Founded by undergrad Economics students at the University of Toronto in September 2021. Founded by two students at the University of Toronto (one of them in exchange year from Laval University), the Sustainable Investment Fund was born at the intersection of the core interests of most aspiring finance professionals - investment and environment. We are a student-managed investment fund focusing on equity investments in environment-positive companies. Beyond mere ESG standards, we endeavor to establish an organization that invests in companies whose core business operations are net-positive to the environment. Our founding philosophy is simple. Climate change is the defining crisis of this century, and effective capital allocation will be an imperative part of any viable solution. Our Vision The idea is to create an institution that goes beyond mere profit-making. We are aiming to both make meaningful, profitable investments in environment-positive companies and create a community and knowledge spring that our institutional and financial partners can both contribute to and benefit from.
