Bringing spiritual and physical "sight" to the needy in South Carolina and abroad!
Surgeons for Sight was formed in late 2009 by the physicians at Southern Eye Associates (www.southern-eye.com) after many years of volunteering their time and donating funds to provide eye exams, eyeglasses and eye surgery to disadvantaged people in South Carolina and in third world countries. Their efforts are being expanded by Surgeons for Sight through developing community partnerships, involving like-minded individuals and generating additional funds to touch more lives. We are a a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization, and our activities include:
- Providing eye exams, glasses and sight saving surgery for disadvantaged people in Greenville, South Carolina. Physicians donate their expertise while Surgeons for Sight funds the actual “out of pocket” costs that include: lenses, glasses, and surgery fees.
- Establishing a program that allows Christian mission groups to obtain the training and equipment necessary to include vision screenings and glasses as part of their mission trips.
- Providing eye exams, eye glasses and eye surgery in third world countries such as Ecuador and Haiti. Typical costs that Surgeons for Sight fund include: medical equipment, disposable supplies, medications, and travel.
Our mission is about changing people’s lives through medicine and spreading the word of God. Please contact us at info@surgeonsforsight.org if you are interested in helping or learning more about us.
