Sunfilm was created in May 2009 through the merger of Sunfilm AG, Grossroehrsdorf and Sontor GmbH, Thalheim.
Sunfilm is committed to producing the highest performing tandem junction thin film silicon modules by:

The main office of the company is in Grossroehrsdorf, about 30 km east of Dresden in Saxony, Germany. A second production site is located in Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Germany. With an installed capacity of approximately 85 megawatts peak (MWp) at the two current production sites in Bitterfeld-Wolfen and Grossroehrsdorf, plus an additional 60MWp of capacity under construction in Grossroehrsdorf, Sunfilm is already one of the world’s largest manufacturers of tandem junction silicon-based thin film modules. The production line in Grossroehrsdorf is being delivered by Applied Materials, Inc, Santa Clara, CA, USA (www.appliedmaterials.com) and is the first of this level of advanced technology and capacity.
