Studiowi is a full-service Architecture and Interior Design firm in Toronto, Canada, that specializes in Residential multi unit housing, custom homes, and large-scale renovation projects.
We draw from years of experience in hospitality and residential design to create living environments that are deeply personal, livable, luxurious, and enveloping. We believe in a holistic approach, from inside to out, start to finish: our services span the acquisition phase, approvals process, construction management, and continue through to custom furniture and turn-key styling. The classic principles of design and an abiding appreciation for fine craftsmanship and comfort guide us at every turn.
Our work is inspired by the lives of our clients. We like to think far beyond the walls. In our creative playground, travel, art, fashion, and history all come to play. We see beauty and utility in a wide range of materials and styles, from traditional to modern, still life to abstract, Andrea Palladio to Zaha Hadid.
Collaboration is the cornerstone of our approach. We work within the rich design culture of Toronto, engaging local artists, metalworks, millworkers, and furniture makers to bring a singular, bespoke quality to each room. Our best results truly come from a cross pollination of ideas.
Beth Wassermuhl founded Studiowi in 2020, following nearly two decades of work in the fields of architecture and interior design. After earning her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Toronto, Beth embarked on a career in commercial design at Arcadis IBI Group, later specializing in boutique hotel design. “There’s a particular ambiance, a plushness, to the hospitality world that really speaks to me." She credits her time abroad in Berlin, Tokyo and work for Kohn Pedersen Fox in New York City, for her nuanced, globally informed portfolio. Studiowi has completed numerous large-scale, high-end residential projects and gained recognition for it's statement making style.
