Strathcona Regional District

The Strathcona Regional District (SRD) is the government body providing services to over 48,000 residents within north central Vancouver Island, Discovery Islands and mainland area inlets, representing four electoral areas, a treaty First Nation and five member municipalities. The SRD was established February 15, 2008, as a result of the provincial government's restructure of the Comox Strathcona Regional District, SRD's corporate office is located on 990 Cedar St., Campbell River. The SRD respectfully acknowledges that its corporate office and the Strathcona Gardens Recreation Complex are located on the traditional unceded territory of the Ligʷiłdax̌ʷ people. It is also recognized that the SRD operates within the traditional, treaty and unceded territories of the Ehattesaht, Homalco, Ka:'yu:'k't'h' / Che: k'tles7et'h’, Klahoose, K'omoks, Mowachaht / Muchalaht, Nuchatlaht, Tlowitsis, We Wai Kai and Wei Wai Kum First Nations.
