Welcome to Stortorvets Gjæstgiveri Take a trip downtown and you'll find one of Oslo's oldest restaurants. People have walked these floors since the early 1700's. In our restaurant you can eat, drink and enjoy yourself in beautiful, historical surroundings, whether you're by yourself or with 300 of your friends. Welcome to our courtyard! We welcome you all to enjoy the nice summer days in our cozy backyard, with a light lunch or delicious dinner, or to just enjoy the ambience with a cup of coffee or a drink. Here you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city, in our little historic oasis! The Restaurant With old paintings depicting Christiania (Oslo's former name) , white tablecloths and friendly waiters, you can enjoy an excellent dinner with your friends, colleagues or family. Our a la carte menu is buildt from traditional Norwegian ingredients and served with a modern twist. The Café In a relaxed atmosphere we serve traditional open sandwiches, daily specials and a full lunch and dinner menu. No reservations, just come by and grab yourself a seat. Eat if you are hungry, otherwise you can just relax with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and today's papers. When it's cold outside we'll throw a log on the open fireplace for you. The First Floor Throughout most of the year it is possible to reserve "chambre separee" for groups of more than 20 people. We serve 3-course menues in what used to be the living quarters of this old mansion. During Christmas season we open up the entire floor, and we can acommodate anything from 1 to a maximum of 86 people per booking.
