Stone Planning (www.stoneplanningllc.com) is a boutique consulting firm that assists in the planning of sports, entertainment, and other public-assembly venues and events. We help public- and private-sector owners and other stakeholders to guide important decisions regarding assets that could impact a community and its economic development for decades. Our independent analyses have been relied upon by municipalities, universities, developers, financial institutions, and others in the development of billions of dollars of construction.
Recent examples of projects we have completed include:
- Assisting an MLB team in quantifying incremental tax revenues to be created by stadium renovation and development of a surrounding mixed-use district, and analysis of potential public/private funding terms.
- Market analyses to analyze the competitive environment for the Los Angeles Clippers' Intuit Dome, to inform the arena's environmental impact study.
- An economic impact study for a music festival on the East Coast, which helped to inform negotiations between its promoter and a public agency that helped to fund the event.
- A feasibility and economic impact study for an indoor/outdoor amphitheater and surf park in Virginia Beach.
- After leading a feasibility study that identified potential usage of the former KeyArena as an NBA or NHL venue, consulting to the City of Seattle during negotiations for Oak View Group's redevelopment of the arena (now Climate Pledge Arena), which led to award of an NHL expansion franchise.
