When deciding which initiatives to pursue or which events to produce, we first ask ourselves if those efforts fit within our two main areas of focus.
First, we care very much about the Identity of Sterling. We are a strong, unique, and respected community, rich with tradition, diverse in its citizenry, and uniquely positioned as the welcoming front door of Loudoun County. The Sterling Foundation is dedicated to doing everything we can to promote, enrich, and protect that identity by engaging with our neighbors, promoting Sterling, and strengthening our community.
Second, our strong and respected community deserves to look its best! Beautification is at the heart of our mission and at the heart of our history. Our foundation began with a singular goal: to care for, clean, and maintain our hometown main street, Sterling Boulevard. That mission continues to this day, 30 years later. But that mission has also grown. We now maintain the Helen Casey Memorial Butterfly Garden, are developing the Linek Garden, and we regularly work with our amazing network of volunteers to clean and maintain our various waterways. Our dedication to our natural environment is unwavering and our efforts continue to produce positive results for the hometown we love.
We hope you’ll join us in our efforts to protect Sterling’s Identity and continually Beautify its environment.
