Stella

Stella is a major voice for gender equality and cultural change in Australian literature. We champion the work of Australian women and non-binary writers, and promote greater access to, and participation in, the world of books and writing to combat gender bias in society. Founded in 2012, the organisation’s flagship program is the annual Stella Prize – a major literary award celebrating Australian women’s writing. Stella also drives systemic change through our range of research and advocacy work – including our long-running Stella Count initiative – and seeks to inspire and empower young people through our schools and education programs.
