The Staten Island Yankees are the Class A (Short-Season) Affiliate of the New York Yankees and took the field for the first time during the summer of 1999, thus becoming the first Minor League Baseball team in New York City. The Baby Bombers, as they are called on occasion, played the first two years of their existence at a temporary stadium at the College of Staten Island while their current home, the Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George, was being built. Located next to the Staten Island Ferry, the stadium has a center field view which includes the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty. The Staten Island Yankees are a professional, entertainment friendly organization that thrives on unsurpassed customer service.
