The Springer Opera House is a producing theatre, a national historic landmark, a theatre academy for children ages 5-18 and can be rented for events. Six productions are mounted in Emily Woodruff Hall, three in McClure Theatre and three children's productions performed in McClure Theatre. Each spring a show is produced to tour the country concentrating in the southeast. Public tours of the historic landmark are given every Monday and Wednesday at 3:30pm and at special request. Tours include the history of the building and a peek behind the curtain of a producing theatre. The Springer Theatre Academy offers training in 2 to 4 week programming throughout the summer and on Saturdays in fall and winter. Training focuses on "Life Skills Through Stage Skills". This focus is currently being expanded to corporations using the tools of the Academy. The Springer is the perfect setting for a birthday, anniversary, wedding, meeting or production on either of the two stages. Areas include - banquet hall, saloon, grand lobby, museum area, veranda, garden, classrooms and of course stages with full production abilities.
