Sport Science & Innovation Groningen

The Sport Science Institute Groningen (SSIG) is a collaboration in sport science and education between the three biggest knowledge- and education institutes of Groningen (University of Groningen, University Medical Center Groningen and Hanze University of Applied Sciences) and the City of Groningen. SSIG is a strong multidisciplinary network for sharing and developing sport scientific knowledge within three main themes: - Sport & Healthy Ageing - Sport & Performance - Sport & Sustainable Society The main aims of SSIG are to: - Bring together fundamental and applied sport research in Groningen - Develop education/study trajectories within sport - Increase the national and international visibility of sport science expertise within the city/region of Groningen - Promote collaboration and increase knowledge transfer between science, practice, and policymakers in the area of sport
