Spirit in Action’s work is based on the belief that a small grant and sincere encouragement can enable people to tap into their own potential. Spirit in Action knows that the most important element leading to better food and nutrition, education, better housing, etc. for people struggling to survive and thrive in the developing world, is the opportunity to discover their personal self-worth and collective power.
After 15 years in operation, SIA still places its connections to passionate and dedicated people working for economic opportunity and community improvement in their towns and villages as the centerpiece of its strategy. This human connection is integral to SIA’s founder, Del Anderson’s, vision of international assistance, which was rooted in his Christian faith. Del was a visionary whose main mission was to seek out and support other visionaries making a difference in their own communities.
