Sparc is a 501(c)3, founded in 1951 by a group of parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
At Sparc we realize that when we approach the work we do with gratitude, our world, and more importantly the world of the people we support, opens up. What was understood as impossible, suddenly becomes within reach.
The people supported by Sparc provide daily inspiration to each of us. They lift our souls, remind us about life being fair and life being unfair. We are reminded to look out after those whose challenges may be greater than our own. The folks we support continually remind us that hard work, being productive and giving back to society are traits that are respected and admired - and that each and every one of us has something to contribute to society. At Sparc our belief is simple: the people supported by Sparc come first. Everything else follows…
and we mean everything else.
Sparc’s mission is to enrich the lives of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities by enabling them to successfully live, learn, work and socialize in the community.
Sparc fulfills its mission through programs attuned to the unique potential of each person and is designed to build self confidence and independence. Support services are provided to approximately 300 people through one or more of the following programs: 24 hour residential supports; developmental training; supported living; supported employment; competitive employment; janitorial training; and Kamp Kaleidoscope.
