WHAT WE DO
Space Agency is an experiential design and research agency based in London and working globally. The focus of our design work is in the interface between the built environment and user experience. We combine strategic vision with creative spatial and communication design to create spaces which inform and engage people. We work across a spectrum of design disciplines including wayfinding, urbanism, architecture and branding. We believe that design innovation comes from crossing over boundaries between these disciplines, promoting a culture of interchange that inspires creative thinking.
HOW WE DO IT
Our starting point is the movement of people. Space Agency employs a methodology tested in practice over the past 30 years to forecast patterns of movement and use within cities and complex buildings. This methodology uncovers the underlying dynamics of how the layout of the environment will affect people’s behavior and use of space.
Using this research, we focus on how people experience engages with environments - whether moving through a transport hub at a fast clip when information is paramount, progressing through a sequence of touchpoints in a retail environment, or at their leisure in a curatorial space. Our design concepts integrate these journeys into coherent, seamless experiences.
WHO WE ARE
Space Agency enjoys strong connections with academia and the company’s directors place considerable focus on design research. The office is comprised of an international team with developed expertise in architecture, urban and graphic design. This diversity provides us with unique insight. We cultivate ties to a global network of project partners who are at the forefront of design innovation. The company is a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and a member of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD).
