The South London Sinfonia is an orchestra, and registered charity, based in Croydon.
Since its formation in 1927, the orchestra has offered enthusiastic amateurs, with a range of abilities, the opportunity to play together in an atmosphere which aims to promote enjoyment in music making.
New members are welcome in all sections, especially strings.
The orchestra takes pride in offering a friendly welcome to all musicians of a suitable standard. Competent sight reading skills are needed.
No audition is required, but players are welcome to come along to a few rehearsals on a trial basis before they commit to being members.
Prospective members should be keen to work together and show a commitment to rehearsals that enables the orchestra to be adventurous and to offer realistic challenges. In return, players will find their skills respected and nurtured in a supportive way.
