In 2018, the United States Government launched the Asia Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy (earlier ‘Asia EDGE’ and now called ‘Clean EDGE Asia’) initiative to support the growth of sustainable and secure energy markets across the Indo-Pacific region.
USAID/India established the South Asia Regional Energy Hub (SAREH) as a communication and coordination platform to support the implementation of Clean EDGE Asia (formerly Asia EDGE) in South Asia.
SAREH now operates under the USAID’s flagship regional energy program, the South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP) program, facilitating coordination and communication of Clean EDGE Asia activities within the region to enhance coordination among various stakeholders, lead communication and outreach efforts, and drive a consolidated approach to monitoring and reporting on USAID’s energy programs in South Asia.
