Skofteland Film AS was established in Oslo, Norway, in 2006, and is an independent TV- and film production company that produces documentary films/series and factual entertainment formats for the national and international television marked. (www.skoftelandfilm.no)
Skofteland Film specializes in making entertaining, warm and intimate films and series which touch on important themes. We aim to break down prejudice and myth in society without pointing fingers. We want to inspire the audience to think for themselves through the experience our films provide, and by getting to know people that the viewers otherwise would not have real access too. Our mantra is to combine viewer-friendliness with meaningful content and high-end quality. E.g. Thaifjord 2008/11, Harvesting the Wasteland 2008 and Songs From the Street 2010.
Founder, managing director and executive producer Hilde Skofteland has extensive experience in the film and television field, also internationally. From 1996 to 2005 she worked for several of the major Nordic Production Companies (e. g. Nordisk Film, Strix Televisjon, MTV, NRK) as a director of popular TV-series (e. g. Survivor 1999 and 71 Degrees North 2002/3) and as a producer of international co-productions (e. g. Survivor 2004, The Mole 2000 and Top Model 2005). In 2005 she was also head of the developing of the successful international TV-format, My Best Friend, in Strix Television, sold to more than 10 countries.
