Singgasana (pronounced ʂɪŋɢ-ɢɑ-ʂɑɲɑ) in Indonesian means the throne or seat of power where the ruler conducts ceremonial functions. In the ancient culture of Indonesia, this is a Sanskrit word which means “lion’s seat”. This icon symbolises greatness and majesty in the Hindu and Buddhist culture and is evident in the ancient Javanese art of the 8th century in the reliefs of Borobudur and Prambanan. Thus the colours of gold, yellow and blue reflect the royal service, the creativity of our people and the comforts guests enjoy in all our properties.
