Sikou’s ice cream are made with raw dairy products directly purchased in Walloon farms (south of Belgium), and pasteurised in its unit of production.
Our philosophy relies on manufacturing ice cream according to the rules of this art in compliance with this craftsmanship.
The making is based on simple recipies with few ingredients, simples, as close as what Nature makes, and well known by all. Sikou makes no chemistry.
By this way to produce, Sikou has been recognized as a high nutritional quality product, rich in nutrients.
Indeed, Sikou’s purpose is to obtain a high quality nutritional product, digestible and rich in all the essential nutrients such as the lactic ferments, mineral salts and a wide range of vitamins and omegas. This requires the use of raw, high-standard materials that are cooked in our workshops, such as the vanilla which is infused, the caramel which is home made, along with the coffee beans which are being re-roasted for extra flavour, ...
As consequence, Sikou has bee reconized as Artisan by the Belgian’s “Commission Artisan” and has made its products certified 100% organic, even though the organic certification is granted from 95% of organic ingredients.
Nothing artificial is being used like powders or chemical additives. We don’t use flavourings even if they are of a natural provenience, we don’t resort to using artificial addition of air in the ice cream, we don’t use any kind of ersatz products.
