Founded in 1999, Siena House is a non-profit residential program located in Santa Cruz, California that provides an environment of health, stability, support, and resources for pregnant women and new mothers experiencing homelessness. Our holistic approach to supporting pregnant women, new mothers, and their infants works to heal the whole woman — mind, body, and spirit — as she works towards self-sufficiency. We provide intensive, residential, and wraparound support, including therapy, case management, life skills development, and connections to housing, employment, and other resources in a safe, nurturing home for up to 10 women and their babies at a time. We provide healthy food for cooking meals, a comfortable place to lay their heads, and a community of caring people.
Siena House catalyzes generational shifts in families from surviving to thriving. Our mission aims to help new mothers heal after birth and homelessness to be strong mothers for their newborns as well as prevent the generational cycles of trauma and poverty.
