Short Mat Players Tour

The Short Mat Players Tour was founded in 2011 by Craig Burgess & Simon Pridham. Now with fellow directors Philip Mills and Stephen Gale on board, the team has over 70 years of experience in the world of bowls, especially Short Mat. The aim of the Short Mat Players Tour is to promote the sport and organise world class Short Mat competitions that are suitable for all players to enter, from beginners to World Champions. Players of any ability, age, disability, nationality and gender are welcome. We would like to work with the National Governing Bodies and are currently working with the Irish, Belgium and Swedish Short Mat Associations to run events in these countries. We have some great people working with us and hope to gain more talented people along the way. We have plenty to offer regarding exciting sponsorship opportunities and would be interested in speaking to any potential sponsors. The SMPT motto is simply “Competitions for the players by the players”. We firmly believe that any player who enters our events will be impressed with all aspects. How many other competitions offer the chance for any player to potentially play against top international stars of the game? Our events are based on many years of experience and continued feedback from the players. We will strive to develop new and revolutionary ideas whilst providing some of the best competitions in the world.
