At nearly half the size of Victoria, the Shire of Ashburton boasts some of the world's largest open cut mines, pastoral leases and cattle stations, as well as a thriving fishing industry – all set against a beautiful and ancient arid tropical landscape which includes Karijini National Park. The Shire of Ashburton includes four established town sites being Tom Price, Paraburdoo, Onslow and Pannawonica and is home to over 10,000 residents.
