Founded by Englewood-raised, former Gates Millennial scholar, Deonte Tanner (25), SFH leverages the power of community scholarships, personalized support and hope building outreach to transform the lives of underserved scholars and families. While pursuing his masters in education at DePaul University, he is working with leading educators, pediatric doctors, local teachers, parents, corporate leaders, advisers and allies to help the next generation of young scholars of color achieve like never before Focused on supporting young students and their families, SFH's unique “community scholarship” model is being developed directly with doctors, teachers, parents and their children to help provide the comprehensive assistance required for underserved scholars to succeed while enabling donors to become active, ongoing supporters of these deserving students throughout the school year.
