The Selye János Doctoral College for Advanced Studies (SELYE in short) is a democratically self-governing student association and a sub-insitution of the Semmelweis University founded in 2021.
Our activities and goals are the following:
1. Operating a professional organization and an efficient science workshop consisting PhD students and young researchers.
2. Performing research – particularly in scientific border areas – and publishing the results.
3. Interdisciplinary scientific cooperation within the health care specialties and with other associate professions.
4. Close collaboration with the undergraduate students of the Semmelweis Ignác College for Advanced Studies by common research.
5. Helping our PhD students with the collective resources of the institution to reach higher publication performance and to graduate as soon as possible.
6. Channeling back the postgraduate members of the community to the University as researchers, teachers and scientific supervisors, as well as providing connection between the University and our alumni members by making them national and international scientific ambassadors.
7. Completing the educational activities of the Semmelweis University, helping to acquire the knowledge necessary for a successful scientific career by organizing courses and lectures.
8. Satisfying the scientific interest of the students through scientific conferences.
9. Introducing and promoting health care and health related professions within and outside the Semmelweis University.
10. Creating a community space for talented students from the Semmelweis University and other universities, holding regular community programs.
11. Searching for cooperation opportunities with domestic and foreign universities and other organizations active in the field of science, research and development.
12. Stimulating the cultural and community life of the Semmelweis University.
13. Providing a scientific career model for our members.
