Scienspur is an idea initiated by Post-doctoral fellows from the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University to provide STEM education to economically disadvantaged students attending public funded colleges and universities in India. Scienspur aims to nourish the scientific curiosity in students by teaching fundamental concepts and introducing emerging areas in science. The Lakshmi Mittal & Family South Asian Institute at Harvard University has generously funded this initiative.
We aim to provide access to STEM education that will equip the students to become globally competitive to pursue their dreams in higher education. We select students from disadvantaged background and attending public funded schools and colleges, and provide them with additional advanced courses with no tuition. These courses by Scienspur will pave a way for the students to attend best universities for higher education. We believe that the successful beneficiaries will contribute to research and innovation through their creativity and ingenuity in various fields of science and technology. We also believe that this will lay a strong foundation, in the long run, for creating a society with scientific awareness to find solutions for the problems that will improve the living standards and heath.
