SciPro is a platform which manages the entire thesis writing process, from idea to final submission, plagiarism checking (via our partners) and grading. SciPro has been designed to be used for Bachelor, Master and PhD theses. The service is unique insofar as it handles everything in a single platform which is easy to use. In the Idea Bank, students can submit their own project ideas so that supervisors can find suitable students; supervisors can also submit ideas so that students who have not yet managed to suggest a project can browse their ideas to help kickstart their thesis writing. The purpose of this is to connect the right student with the right supervisor to ensure that student projects are done in the best possible way. After the matching process – a process which, with SciPro, takes minutes rather than several days or weeks – supervisors can supervise their students with the Activity Plan module. This module is the backbone of the system: supervisors can now avoid saying the same things to each student individually; now, they write in the Activity Plan what it is that they want the students to do and how long it should take them to do this. The system manages deadlines automatically, taking weekends and public holidays into consideration. Students always know what to do as well as when and how to do it without needing to ask their supervisor. The system has a Peer Review module as well as the ability for students to submit the different drafts of their thesis. The Resources tab contains material suggested by the supervisor and the administrator which will further help the student control their learning. SciPro allows up to 400 extra hours of supervision time per project and so leads to an increase in the number of completed projects as well as the average grade per project. In other words, use of SciPro increases quantity as well as quality whilst it significantly reduces the amount of administration!
