Schäfer & Flottmann have been specialising in the automation of packaging and product-sorting processes for over 70 years. The range of secondary packaging machines covers erectors, packaging machines, closing and lidding modules, robot palletisers and handling systems as well as bottle wrapping machines. Today, Schäfer & Flottmann is automating complete secondary packaging lines worldwide in a wide range of industries. The machines are primarily used in the food and beverage industry but also in many non-food sectors. The production of the lines is focussed on high flexibility, a wide performance range and high efficiency. The customer base is still supported and serviced by the headquarter employees in Gevelsberg, assisted by internationally active commercial agencies. In some application areas, the performance standards set by Schäfer & Flottmann cannot be reached by any competitor. Outstanding are the servo-driven Tray- and Carton Erectors, with a capacity of more than 60 trays or cartons per minute for application in the dairy and beverage industries. Just as packaging is constantly changing, the demands on the machines are also growing. Well-known brands such as Rama, Becel, Kerrygold are packaged on Schäfer & Flottmann machines in shipping cartons or in the form of display packaging to meet today's retail requirements at the point of sale. The company is still family-owned to date. The medium-sized company is managed by Heinrich Flottmann in the second generation and Konrad Flottmann in the third generation. The family-owned company relies on flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths in the highly competitive field of special machine construction.
