Founded in 1942 by João Effting, Santa Luzia started as a small mirror factory in Braço do Norte (SC). In manufacturing the frames for mirrors, the company grew rapidly to revolutionize its production of decorative profiles, coverings and accessories in 2002, replacing 98% of wood as initial raw material to plastic wastes such as expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) and polyurethane. The largest industrial construction mouldings complex in South America, Santa Luzia has commercial products in more than 4,000 points of sale in over 400 cities across the country. Currently, it exports around 10% of its production to countries like the United States, Japan, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.
