The Santa Barbara County Genealogy Society, a nonprofit corporation, provides educational opportunities for family history research, maintains a reference library and collects and preserves genealogical records.
Members have full use of the computer lab with access to Ancestry, Fold3 and American Ancestors.
The Society's Sahyun Library is open to the public and is located at 316 Castillo Street on the ocean side of Highway 101. Take the Bath Street off ramp going North, or the Castillo Street off ramp going South on 101. The Library contains over 10,000 volumes, 600 CD-ROMS, and a large collection of newsletters and journals from many genealogical societies all over the United States, Canada, Australia, Great Britain and other countries.
SB Genealogical society holds monthly meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month at the First Presbyterian church at Constance and State.
