Saint John's Benedictine Volunteer Corps (BVC) is sponsored by the Saint John's Abbey of Collegeville, Minnesota, USA. The Abbey provides placement in a host monastery, travel to and from locations, a monthly stipend, and services to promote a safe and holistic monastic service experience.
Volunteers engage in various forms of work, such as teaching English to children or teaching at a Prep School; providing hospitality to pilgrims; working with disadvantaged children in slums; taking part in medical missions to serve the poor, providing administrative services to monasteries, and other good works. Volunteers also participate in parts of monastic life and prayer.
