SMU's Master of Science in Sport Management degree is a full-time, 12-month program designed for students who have a passion for the business of sport and who aspire to hold senior-management positions in the multi-billion dollar sports industry.
The program is led by sport management professionals with decades of executive experience in a wide range of segments including professional leagues and teams, media and broadcasting, marketing and sponsorship, facilities and sports equipment and apparel. Students will learn important business skills from faculty at the SMU Cox School of Business, ranked nationally by leading business journals.
The Sport Management (SM) program is a concentration within the undergraduate major in Applied Physiology and Sport Management (APSM). This program provides a rigorous curriculum for understanding management principles required of professionals in the world of sport.
Academic coursework and experiential learning opportunities within this program prepare students for a variety of possible career paths including sport marketing, management of sport organizations, representation of professional athletes, public relations, and sport facility and event management.
