Bits By The Bay is the premier technology conference in the Mid-Atlantic area devoted to broadcast and professional video, audio and motion imaging. It originally started as the WEBE-SMPTE Conference in the 1980s and was produced by the Washington Executive Broadcast Engineers in association with the SMPTE Washington DC Section. For many years the conference was held on the Eastern Shore in Ocean City, MD and Rehoboth Beach, DE. After moving around to several sites the conference has relocated to Chesapeake Beach, providing easy access for Washington, Richmond and Baltimore attendees and from several local airports.
Today Bits By The Bay attracts senior engineers and engineering management representing a wide range of local end-users including TV stations, TV station groups, broadcast and cable networks, government agencies, defense, and corporate users and the systems designers, integrators and consultants that serve them. We also have a significant number of attendees from New York and other distant regions.
Our presenters represent leading senior technologists and thought-leaders in the industry. We offer a mix of content from training and workshops on the fundamentals of essential technologies to presentations on the latest developments and forthcoming technologies that will shape our industry.
