SMP Alliance is a partnership comprising seven members: National Highways as the client; one Production Management Partner (Fluor); two Digitally-Enabled Design Partners (WSP and Jacobs); and three On-Site Assembly Partners (Balfour Beatty, the BAM / Morgan Sindall Joint Venture and Costain).
Collectively, the SMP Alliance is designing and constructing the smart motorways programme covering the Government’s Road Investment Strategy 2 and 3.
The Alliance is an enterprise with the vison to be industry leading in making the road network safer, greener and evermore efficient for everyone. This is supported by a shared mission to be a high performance enterprise that excels in delivering enhancements to the strategic road network.
Transformation is being achieved by adopting innovations, applying a programmatic approach, utilising digital rehearsals and embedding methods of construction such as off-site manufacture. There is a greater emphasis on digital technology, increased efficiency and standardisation.
Six measurable Outcomes define our success, namely: Home Safe & Well; Confident Customers; Inspiring Workplaces; Production Excellence; Enriched Communities; and Enhanced Environments. These Outcomes are clearly outlined with agreed KPIs and supporting PIs.
All align with National Highways’ three imperatives of improving safety, creating a better customer experience and delivering greater efficiency.
