The SIU School of Accountancy offers students the opportunity to earn their Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Master of Accountancy, and Ph.D. in Accounting both in-person and online. We have a strong faculty who provide our students with the knowledge that will prepare them to succeed in the accounting profession. The School of Accountancy is fully accredited by the AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and has achieved full membership in the Federation of Schools of Accountancy which places the School of Accountancy in an elite set of accounting programs.
In addition to the strong academic programs, the School also focuses on enhancing our students soft skills. The School hosts Professional Meetings weekly with accounting professionals coming to campus to talk with our students about many topics. In addition to the professional meetings, the School provides numerous other networking opportunities for our students, including the Annual School of Accountancy Career Fair, the bi-annual Recognition Banquets, the annual Accounting Golf Scramble, and visits to firms and companies.
The School has a very strong relationship with our alumni. The School's Board of Advisors is comprised of many alumni and friends of the School and they are very actively involved in the life of the School. The Board meets two times per year and interacts with our students during those meetings.
The School has four registered student organizations (RSOs); Beta Alpha Psi, Accounting Society, ASCEND, and NABA. Each RSO is very active and provides their members with many opportunities to excel. They are involved in several community service activities, from providing free tax services through the VITA program, to collecting food and being responsible for Adopt-A-Spot areas in the region. The School's RSO consistently are recognized as the most active in the College of Business.
