About Us:
A group of professors and graduate students from Seneca College founded SITP Social Enterprise Inc. in 2014. Their goal was to offer paid project and internship opportunities to Information Technology and Project Management students in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and provide businesses with an innovative way to identify and develop IT talent. SITP specifically focuses on curating recent graduates from GTA Colleges such as Seneca, Sheridan, Conestoga and George Brown giving them a platform to showcase their skills, improve their market value, and create long-term job opportunities.
SITP has been successful in generating over $1.6 million in revenues directly from industry without any government subsidies in the first 6 years of operation. Over 120 college students have worked for SITP as contractors or direct employees, and they have been paid through the Ceridian Payroll system with the correct source deductions. For many of these students, the experience with SITP was a crucial step towards obtaining Canadian Permanent Residency and/or securing regular full-time employment. SITP primarily draws talent from Information Technology Project Management, Cybersecurity, Cloud Administrational and Systems Analysis and Design programs.
