Established in 1995 as a software house and a consulting firm, Siteco has designed and developed information systems for the road asset management, nowadays a national standard.
In the last years the company has developed a Mobile Mapping System, a sophisticated world-class technology.
Siteco excels for its experience as a highly specialized engineering company in the infrastructure sector. Since 2000, thanks to the competence of the CEO, Mr. Augusto Burchi, the Ministry of Transportation, ANAS (the Italian road asset management company) and the Italian highways, have assigned important consulting services to the company. The activity of consulting includes the development of road system assets. Siteco applications cover the main issues of the infrastructure management and maintenance: expropriations, road asset management, signs, authorizations, artifacts and pavement. They have been conceived with a pragmatic industrial approach and this allows their more and more frequent implementation, even in the road network maintenance sector and in specific global services.
Since 2005, Siteco has carried out a research on Mobile Mapping Systems. The research has been financed as part of the Program for the Research and the Technological Innovation (PRIITT) of the region of Emilia-Romagna. A ‘laboratory of road survey’, the Road-Scanner, has been built, equipped with a laser-scanner produced by FARO. This survey technique is absolutely innovative and is proposed worldwide by FARO and on the European market by Siteco. By the end of the year a new office will be established in Paris.
To face the growing demand for the creation and management of the road databases, in 2007 Siteco set up a branch in Bulgaria in constant coordination with the quality control department of the Bologna head office.
