A home-grown fashion brand, SHREE – She is Special was established in New Delhi in 2009 with a mission to reach every Indian household with well-priced, comfortable and daily Indian ethnic wear. SHREE is an amalgamation of Mr. Sandeep Kapoor’s 30 years of experience in designing outfits and Mrs. Sheetal Kapoor’s innovative approach to retail. Under their leadership, SHREE has seen tremendous growth in the past decade and strives to become a leading brand in its category. The Brand was counted amongst the top 100 SMEs in India in 2017. Mrs. Kapoor, being a homemaker for 20 years of her life, began her professional career at the age of 40. She actively participated in Product Design, and independently took care of Sales and Business Development of the brand. She also empowered hard-working and creative women by helping them become a part of the corporate world. Gradually, she transformed herself into one of the successful women entrepreneurs of India. In 2021, Mrs. Kapoor won the SME - Women Entrepreneur of the Year award for inspiring Indian women to look beyond their households and become successful entrepreneurs, and for leading a brand that resonates with so many Indian women across the country. As a woman-led brand, SHREE celebrates the essence of womanhood, and is continuously working towards providing a personable shopping experience to women by bringing the rich culture of India to their homes. While Mrs. Kapoor brought her warmth and motivational attitude to the table, her husband Mr. Kapoor came with his experience in design establishing SHREE as a small online seller, which, owing to the efforts put in by both, has now become a major ethnic wear brand selling millions of products across various channels. Together, they built SHREE as a brand truly made for the Indian woman and proudly, Made in India.
