At SCOOP we empower displaced and marginalised young people to fufil their potential at home in Ireland and abroad. We foresee an inclusive world where all young people have equal access to education and opportunities for a sustainable future. We aim to achieve this through the delivery of our specialised programmes which focus on educational, academic and personal development. These include SCOOP Ed, SCOOP Art and SCOOP Recruit, in addition to our Erasmus+ Projects and emergency aid relief.
SCOOP Ed focuses on helping vulnerable people with personal and academic support through IT, English, Mindfulness and Music programmes.
SCOOP Recruit is a pre-employment training programme for job seekers living in Direct Provision Centres in Ireland. It is mainly delivered online to circumvent barriers relating to travel and access to centres. The programme empowers people seeking asylum to secure employment, internships & voluntary work.
The work SCOOP does is made possible by a dedicated team who are passionate about the beneficiaries of the programmes. Katie, Alison, Calvin, Jessie and Edith work tirelessly to ensure the SCOOP mission is achieved.
The SCOOP team also includes longtime board members - Conor Moloney (chairperson), Pádraig Kelly, Colin Farmer, Dylan Cannon, Dave McCabe and George Mealy.
