SAVE Dade is the leading LGBTQ advocacy organization in Miami, Florida, promoting equal rights for all Americans.
Established in 1993, SAVE Dade defeated a proposed statute that would have banned anti-discrimination ordinances throughout the State of Florida. In 1998, SAVE Dade successfully lobbied for the Miami-Dade County Commission to pass an ordinance banning discrimination based on sexual orientation. The ordinance was challenged at the ballot box in 2002. SAVE won the vote 53% to 47%.
As we continue the movement for equal rights for all people, SAVE Dade remains a leader in the fight for equal rights for LGBTQ Americans.
