Rotaract is a global youth movement that stems from Rotary International. It serves as an amazing platform for individuals aged 18 and above to engage in service, improve their professional skills and foster leadership for a better future.
As a mainly youth centered movement, Rotaract has grown rapidly since its inception in 1968, currently boasting over 10,600 clubs with presence in 180 countries worldwide.
Rotary International District 3220 is an administrative District, which belongs to the movement, which comprises of the countries namely, Sri Lanka and Maldives. Rotaract was introduced to Sri Lanka in 1969 and has expanded to 90+ Rotaract clubs with a geographical representation in 8 administrative provinces of the country which include nearly 8000 passionate Rotaractors.
Rotaract District in RID 3220 is the administrative body of all the Rotaract Clubs island-wide and is headed by the District Rotaract Representative (DRR). For the year 2022-23, the movement is spearheaded by the DRR Rtn. Rtr. PP Ahamed Hussain with the vision of making Rotaract Sri Lanka’s most progressive youth-led movement, that enables and empowers communities. He aspires to transform this movement to one that welcomes all individuals and serves as a major platform to find themselves, improve themselves and create value through service and action.
Aligned with the Rotaract principles, the Rotaract Clubs in RID 3220 focus on grassroots level initiatives which bring profound benefits to all stakeholders involved. With a newly invigorated emphasis on sustainability, Rotaract seeks to leave a lasting impact with all its initiatives, programs and presence in the communities around the country. Alongside the massive youth involvement in the movement and the ever-resolute leadership of Rtn. Rtr. PP Ahamed Hussain, Rotaract in RID 3220 will serve as a resounding opportunity for everyone to Learn, Serve and Strive.
