The Rose Institute of State and Local Government pursues two complementary missions. First and foremost, the Rose Institute conducts and publishes cutting-edge research about California's political affairs. In the process, it also cultivates Claremont Consortium students into savvy political scientists.
Rose Institute researchers have led impressive projects about legislative redistricting, California demographics, municipal finance, economic regulations, and countless other key policy areas. Faculty and students have worked together to create innovative computerized databases, analyze complex legal codes and issues, design services to improve governmental transparency and accessibility, and educate insiders and laypeople alike about the Golden State's most pressing political topics.
Our work has been featured in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, CNN, and many other regional and national publications.
