River will be a Southern, chef driven restaurant located on the South side of the Black Warrior River. Drew Henson, a local restaurateur that owned the Cypress Inn for 30 years, is opening the restaurant in mid May. Concentrics of Atlanta has worked with Drew to put every ounce of thought imaginable to make this restaurant one of a kind. From the interior floor to ceiling textiles to the lounge furniture on the outdoor patio, River is sure to be a place that guests will look forward to enjoying a craft cocktail outside in the afternoon or a southern inspired dinner later at night. In hopes of guests feeling comfortable in whatever attire brings them off of the walking track, the chef will offer entrees and flatbreads of all sorts. The owners and management know that the ambiance will not be the only aspect that will keep guests coming back. All are in agreeance that service is very important and hope that everyone that comes in to dine feels the comfort level that a local may feel. The management has been in the service industry for years and looks forward to River being an enjoyable place to work while keeping the importance of the guest experience top priority. River will start with opening for dinner only for the first month. Within a month, brunch will be served on Saturdays and Sundays, and shortly after, lunch will be available.
