Centrally located in the Chesapeake Bay, Rhode River Marina has been more than a long-standing safe harbor from storms and peril – Rhode River has existed to be a friendly, full-service marina at the forefront of service standards and equipment sales. Once the private marina and privately operated marine railway of the Behlkes – a family who immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1900 – Rhode River Marina has a rich history of dedication to boaters, respect for the water and responsibility to the environment. The Behlkes once farmed the land around Rhode River’s Germantown Road location and, in 1982, planted the seed of marina life in the mind of a young, forward-thinking, boat mechanic named Brian Conner. Brian leased Rhode River Marina from Mr. Belkie at age 20, shortly after he had the opportunity to purchase the Marina. Today the marina is the exclusive, authorized dealer for some of the highest-quality manufacturers and is known for standing behind its customers by servicing what it sells. The marina environment maintains the same family-oriented feel developed by the Behlkes, but with Brian’s added touch of the latest technology and quality service. Currently Brian employs 15 full-time skilled to cover every aspect of boating. We do it all “in house” instead of going outside which reflects a financial savings for our customers. Our technicians are all factory trained with Mercury, Verado, Yamaha & Suzuki Outboards, MerCruiser & Volvo Penta, Kholer & Westerbeke Generators, Formula, Crownline & Seafox. Our Technicians have to pass rigorous yearly schooling and testing for these companies. When you bring your boat to us for service, you can be rest assured our team of Professional ‘Techs’ will be able to diagnose and fix the problems right.
