The RMIT Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) laboratory was established in 2013 as a space to be used by researchers and students interested in the field of UAS. The UAS lab supports any interested RMIT student or staff member to work on UAS-related projects. The RMIT UAS Research Team (RUASRT) consists of undergraduate students, postgrad students, post-docs and academics. All these people work on projects within the team, and many also assist with team management in some way. We are supported by the School of Engineering, in part, and get the majority of our funding from research contracts/projects. We design, develop, manufacture, test, fly and maintain uncrewed aircraft that can be used for a range of purposes for anyone in the university.
