Thomas Mfg. Co. has the production capacity to accept custom fabrication and welding jobs. We can take on your job or idea and turn it into a finished product at any stage of the process: design, cutting, fabricating, welding, or finishing. Our capabilities include:Productdesign: our engineering and design departments use the latest versions of AutoCAD and inventor drafting software.Materials: because of our OEM production, we are able to leverage our material volume to negotiate excellent pricing on a variety of materials.Fiber laser cutting: our 4kw Bystronic laser can process 5x10 ft. Sheets with tolerances within .01 inch in thicknesses up to 1/2 in. Mild steel or .015 on thicknesses between 1/2 and 3/4 inch. A new 10kw Bystronic fiber laser will be added in spring 2020, to cut thicker materials at faster speeds. Our 3kw Trumpf laser/punch machine has similar capabilities, and is a punching machine as well.Deburring: our machine has the capability to debur and edge round both the top and bottom of your part at the same time. Paint and powder finishes do not like sharp edges, and even your unburred edges still have a straight 90 degree edge. Edge rounding is essential for any finished product. Our fladder deburring machine adds the ability to deoxidize thicker material.CNC sheet metal forming: we have automated and manual CNC press brakes. Our bystronic press brake has a laser angle measurement system (lams) to measure the bend thousands of times/second to adjust for different tensile strengths across the sheet.CNC rod forming: our CNC rod former takes rod (1/4, 3/8, 1/2 and 5/8-inch thicknesses) straight from the coil, then straighten, form, and cut all in one step with minimal labor costs.Manual and robotic welding: we have several pulse mig welders and an excellent welding staff to operate them, plus over a dozen robotic welders for large run welding jobs.Powder coating: our system includes a 3-stage wash. Choose from any of our OEM colors with custom colors available on larger runs.Thermoplastic coating: our unique dip coating process achieves 30-40 mil thickness (vs the standard 3-4) for an extremely durable finish. Thicker or thinner coatings are available upon request.
