The Winterton family name has been synonymous with auctioneering in Staffordshire for seven generations since 1864. From our early beginnings in the Smithfield livestock market in Lichfield, we have evolved and expanded whilst staying true to our family-run ethos. Today, the company is run by Richard and Janet Winterton from The Lichfield Auction Centre and handles regular general, specialist and fine art auctions together with bespoke house clearance, probate and valuation services. Our meticulously-catalogued sales deal in anything from jewellery, watches and furniture to specialist items such as coins, medals, vintage toys, rare whisky and vehicles. More than 3,000 bidders from all over the world took part in our first online-only Fine Arts Sale and subsequent auctions have achieved record-breaking selling rates.
