Project Civitas (Chinese: Civitas计划) is a project-based learning initiative based in China. The founders aim to connect Chinese high school and college students with outstanding young adults around the world through intellectual dialogues and civic engagement.
Founded in 2022, Project Civitas has successfully launched two domestic projects in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, attracting 100+ students and 40+ mentors. Past mentors include influential intellectuals and leaders within greater China, such as professors Fei Yan and Kecheng Fang and entrepreneurs Wentao Yang and Vincent Liu.
The executive team of Project Civitas consists of 15 members from Harvard, Duke, Cambridge, Tsinghua, and other top universities around the world. Prior to joining Project Civitas, our members led Xiuhe Academy and Project Nous, two leading non-profit organizations focusing on liberal arts education in China. We are ambitious young activists who aspire to make a positive and meaningful impact in China by elevating our ideals in global education and drawing inspiration from other talents.
In Summer 2023, Project Civitas launched the pilot Civitas International program.
