Progressive Alternatives Society of Calgary (PASC) was created over 25 years ago to support Calgarians with developmental disabilities to secure real work for real pay, and build careers for themselves.
We believe that everyone has a right to pursue a career based on their individual personality, talents and passions, regardless of their ability. We use the tools and best practices of career development and supported employment to assist the people we support in their career goals.
We work in partnership with the person (job seeker or employee), the employer and any significant others, especially family, to make the employment a success for all, and to ensure long term personal and career growth.
Many of the people we support begin their career trajectory with skill building through further education or experience in volunteer activities as first steps.
We provide no group or facility based instruction or programming, believing instead that work, career and the good life of a typical citizen are best created by genuine participation in typical community and workplace roles and settings.
PASC is funded by the Persons with Developmental Disabilities program of Alberta Human Services, and by charitable donations.
