Prisoners' Legal Services Of New York

PLS' mission is to provide high quality, effective legal representation and assistance to indigent prisoners, to help them to secure their civil and human rights, and to advocate for humane prisons and for a more humane criminal justice system. PLS also provides free legal representation, as part of the NYS Upstate Immigration Program, to non-citizens incarcerated in New York State prison facing immigration removal proceedings under the Institutional Hearing Program (IHP) and individuals in immigration detention at the Albany, Rensselaer and Clinton County Jails.
